The key to solving killer sudoku is to use the information provided by the sum regions (the dotted cages) to help you whittle down the possible values for the cells in the grid, and then combine this information with the familiar sudoku solving rules in order to complete the puzzles. There are some rules unique to killer sudoku that you'll need to know, particularly with the harder puzzles. The introduction to the book tells you the rules of the game, and the how to solve outlines the Rule of 45 - which is a piece of logic you'll need to help you solve some of the harder puzzles in the book.

All the solutions are included at the back of the book so there is help if you get stuck; and also rest assured that if you do find it hard to make progress you should persist - as each and every of the 100 killer sudoku puzzles in the book has just one solution, and it can be found through logic alone; you'll never need to guess to solve these puzzles, although some of them are tricky to crack!
